Course Completion Requirements

To receive a course completion certificate and have the course recorded as complete in your training record, you must meet all of the requirements set by the course. This article explains what those requirements typically include.

TIP — The completion requirements for each course are shown on the course detail page before you start. Check there if you are unsure what is required.

1. What Is Typically Required to Complete a Course?

Completion requirements vary by course, but typically include one or more of the following:

  • Completing all modules or lessons — You must work through every section of the course. Some courses track minimum time spent per page
  • Watching video content in full — Where a course includes mandatory video, you must watch it to the end before progressing
  • Passing an end-of-course assessment — Most courses include a quiz or assessment that must be passed at or above the required pass mark
  • Confirming a declaration or acknowledgement — Some courses require you to confirm that you have read and understood the content

2. Pass Marks for Assessments

If a course includes an assessment, a minimum pass mark will be set (for example, 80%). The pass mark is displayed on the assessment page before you begin. If you do not reach the pass mark, you will need to retake the assessment — see What Happens If I Fail an Assessment? for full details.

3. When Is a Course Marked as Complete?

Once all requirements have been met, the course status will update to Completed automatically. Your certificate will be generated and will be available to download from your profile or training record.

NOTE — If your course status does not update to Completed after finishing all sections, try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, contact your administrator or use the support link below.
